Back to School!

School’s back in session, fall sports are in full swing and life is back to the wonderfulness of every day living! I trust you had a wonderful summer and you have many memories to take with you into the autumn months!

Lets get down to business.

God’s got this one, too! What am I saying? I’m saying that you have success stories…Biblically based success stories that you have praised God for in the past. Now it may seem you have a new fight on your hands. And now - more than ever, God’s got this next challenge under control, too. He’s still the undefeated heavy weight champion of the Universe and God can move this mountain, too!

Times of trail come regularly. Victory celebrations seem to be short lived. Just when it appears we beat out the devil and gain a victory, he’s still right around the corner with another cheap shot planned for us. Yet - God is also waiting for you… He’s waiting for you to reach out your hand and grab up His Bible and take note of what His Holy Word says about sustained spiritual Victory! Ephesians 6 tells us our victory is won or lost in the heavily realm. What does that mean?

Your spiritual victory is won through your faith in God. When Jesus healed people or saved them from sin or even saved them from angry crowds, he would often say, “your faith has healed you,” or “ your faith has saved you.” (Mark 5:34, Luke 7:50) It’s our responsibility to exercise our faith in Christ Jesus because having faith in Christ is the only way to see yourself through this current trial.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) Remember a week or two ago we talked about the ancient greek meaning for “hearing.” Hearing meant also to respond, react, or take action. So if faith comes by hearing and taking action at the same time, then taking action comes through the Word of God. The Israelites took action when they stepped into the Jordan River, only after that first step did the river split. God spoke to Joshua on how to act and where to step in the face of adversity. God’s word still gives us action packed advice to help us make a move in the right direction. The heart beat of His word gives life to what we hear His Holy Spirit say or what we read on the pages of the Bible. His voice and/or the Holy Spirit in us, also gives us direction in life. He guides us. The Bible also says not to be only hearers of the word, but doers of the word and faith without action is dead. (James 1:22, James 2:26)

Faith moves mountains, right? Jesus says so in Matthew 17:20. So…Don’t just read about the mounitan, have faith in God’s word, have faith in what Jesus is teaching, speak to the mountain and step in the direction of your victory in Christ Jesus because God’s got this one, too!

Have a blessed day!
