As October begins, you’ll notice our sermon series moving toward the subject of possession. Think, demon possessed vs. Holy Spirit filled. You have a choice to be possessed by the devil or filled with the Holy Spirit.
October is a time when people enjoy scary movies and running with the devil. Demons, the AntiChrist and chain saw masters are all part of the fun. I suppose…it’s the curious adrenaline junkie rush of human nature that makes us thoroughly enjoy the anticipation of being eaten alive, sawed in half, or chased through a corn field late at night by a headless monster. However, let me reaffirm with you that Matthew 24:22 tells us in the last days, those days will be so horrible that everyone on the planet would die a horrific death if those days were not cut short by Jesus Himself. And those days are nothing to play around with.
Join me this month is exploring the way Jesus set people free from demon possession and how He filled them with the power of the Holy Spirit. To be possessed is typically a negative term. However, let’s turn the tables on the devil and squeeze out the fright of possession and seek to have Jesus fill us with His power, strength, and peace of mind!
