A Message from Pastor Tom - August 2023

Pastor Tom claps as he prepares to Baptize the next member of River Life Church in July 2023.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26

It’s easy to get discouraged when everything around us seems to be falling apart and Jesus isn’t showing up according to our schedule.

“When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” John 11:32

The truth is we have all felt this way. We have all responded the way Mary did to Jesus when her brother Lazarus died. We expect Gods schedule to look exactly like ours. We tend to feel alone and forgotten when God doesn’t seem to be on the scene when we expect him to be and the miracle doesn’t appear to be in motion. We often forget God is awesome and his plans are bigger and greater than ours and he was on the scene before the scene was even created. With back to school and back from vacations , “back to reality” is happening and it’s important for us to remember as our stress levels may start to rise that Jesus is taking care of things.

He is already on the scene. Jesus is more than capable. He’s already handling issues and we can relax and trust that he has a plan that is better than ours could ever be. We can rest in his peace.
